The day after his multiple punctures on the 3rd stage, Sébastien Loeb won the 4th stage between Al Duwadimi and Al Salamiya, thus eating up time on his competitors.

Sébastien Loeb is definitely connected to alternating current. After starting this Dakar 2024 on the wrong foot due to equipment failure on Saturday, the Alsatian driver reacted on Sunday by taking second place behind Stéphane Peterhansel. Rebelote this Tuesday the day after an ordeal 3rd stage during which he deplored three punctures, losing no less than 20 minutes on the line.

The former world rally champion won the fourth stage between Al Duwadimi and Al Salamiya, his first success on this Dakar and his 24th career. On his Hunter Prodrive, the native of Haguenau is ahead of the Saudi Yazeed Al Rahji and his teammate Nasser Al-Attiyah, who follow just over a minute behind. While Carlos Sainz follows at the foot of the podium with almost five minutes of disbursement, Stéphane Peterhansel completes the Top 5.

In the general classification, Yazeed Al Rahji took the opportunity to consolidate his first place with 4’19” ahead of Carlos Sainz and 11’03” over Nasser Al-Attiyah, five-time winner of the event. Despite his victory on this fourth stage, Sébastien Loeb, although he climbs to sixth place, remains at a good distance, 23’50” behind, just ahead of two other Tricolores, Mathieu Serradori and Stéphane Peterhansel.
