Ogier s’impose and Croatia

This Sunday, Frenchman Sébastien Ogier, at the wheel of his Toyota, won the Croatian WRC rally and opened his account this season.

Sébastien Ogier may only have a partial program this season in the WRC world rally championship, but that doesn’t stop him from going all out. As proof this Sunday. Indeed, the Frenchman, who participated in only his second rally in 2024 after his second place obtained during that of Monte-Carlo, won the WRC rally of Croatia, fourth round of the world championship of the specialty, to sign his all first victory of the 2024 season, the 59th since the start of his immense career.

The Toyota driver finished ahead of one of his teammates, namely the Briton Elfyn Evans, who finished second, less than ten seconds from the final victory.

Ogier moves up to fifth place overall

In third place in this same classification, we find the Belgian Thierry Neuville, at the wheel of his Hyundai, who retains his place as leader in the general classification of the WRC world rally championship.

In this one, Neuville is ahead of Evans, while third place remains occupied by another Frenchman, in the person of Adrien Fourmaux, even if the latter finished further back in this Croatian WRC rally, due to a mechanical breakage known this Sunday. Ogier, for his part, moved up to fifth place in the same ranking.

General classification at the end of SS20 (out of 20) – Sunday April 21, 2024
