Journalist Olivier Ménard victim of appalling attack

L’Equipe journalist Olivier Ménard, presenter of L’Equipe du Soir on the group’s television channel, was beaten up in the lobby of his building.

Stupor within the L’Equipe channel, where we learned on Monday of the violent attack on Olivier Ménard, the 53-year-old journalist who every evening on the air hosts the show L’Equipe du Soir. It was in the morning, this Monday, June 10, that the presenter was beaten while he was in the entrance hall of his building. A wave of violence which earned him several days of total incapacity for work (ITT).

Le Parisien shares the news this Wednesday after receiving confirmation from the Nanterre public prosecutor’s office. The journalist, shocked and bruised, filed a complaint for attempted homicide while the investigation into intentional violence was entrusted to the Issy-les-Moulineaux police station in order to identify the perpetrator as quickly as possible.

L’Equipe premises targeted a few hours earlier

A little earlier in the night from Sunday June 9 to Monday June 10, the facade of the L’Equipe premises, located in Boulogne-Billancourt in Hauts-de-Seine (92), had been damaged by an individual with a hammer. Without other messages or claims. A coincidence which challenges the investigators. The investigations into these latest facts are now the responsibility of the Boulogne-Billancourt police station.

The sports daily and its dedicated channel have since reinforced security measures around the building. A complaint was also filed for this damage. On sick leave, Olivier Ménard has been replaced on the air since Monday by Giovanni Castaldi.
