Change to report in the calendar for the 2024 MotoGP season. Indeed, this Wednesday, the International Motorcycling Federation (FIM) and Dorna, promoter of MotoGP, announced the cancellation, “for operational reasons”, of the Indian Grand Prix, supposed to take place from Friday 20 to Sunday September 22. This Grand Prix will be replaced by that of Kazakhstan. This season, a MotoGP Grand Prix should have taken place in Kazakhstan, from Friday June 14 to Sunday June 16.

This round of the world championship ultimately had to be postponed to a later date, due to the bad weather currently affecting this region. This Grand Prix therefore now officially has a new date, since it “will now take place from September 20 to 22”, according to the joint press release from the International Motorcycling Federation (FIM) and Dorna. In 2023, this Kazakhstan Grand Prix had already made headlines, after having had to be canceled due to homologation work.

MotoGP returns to India in March 2025

This season it is present in the MotoGP calendar, for the very first time, and will take place on the Sokol circuit near the city of Almaty. From March 2025, the MotoGP world championship will make its big return to India, on the Buddh circuit, “when the weather conditions should be optimal for spectators and riders”, as also indicated by both instances.

This Indian Grand Prix took place for the very first time in September 2023. At the time, in Uttar Pradesh, in the north of the country, the temperatures felt well above 40 degrees and organisms had therefore particularly suffered under this oppressive heat. At the beginning of last April, the Argentine Grand Prix had to be canceled. Therefore, the 2024 MotoGP World Championship calendar has a total of 20 events and six of them have already taken place.
