Cantona's dirty trick at TF1

Cantona’s dirty trick at TF1

If the first channel had the best audience of the evening thanks to the French team’s match against Chile, the score is down sharply compared to Saturday.

Three days after their ugly defeat against Germany on Saturday, the Blues were back on TF1 on Tuesday for their last match before the start of preparation for the Euro at the end of May. The poster against Chile was much less prestigious and the audience for this second meeting was visibly affected.

While there were 5.61 million viewers watching TF1 on Saturday, for an audience share above 30%, only 4.89 million fans of the French team watched the match commented by Grégoire Margotton and Bixente Lizarazu. A net loss of 720,000 viewers which certainly does not prevent the front page from being the leader, but with only 24.9% audience share.

Cantona’s beautiful score

Behind TF1, France 3 follows with 3.33 million viewers watching the rebroadcast of a new episode of its detective series “Alex Hugo” but lost more than a million pairs of eyes compared to last week when 3 had broadcast a new episode of the program hosted by Samuel Le Bihan.

The pleasant surprise of the evening came from M6 where the first two episodes of its new series “Anonymous Brigade”, notably starring Eric Cantona, were watched by an average of 2.77 million viewers, or 14.5 % audience share. A nice success for the former Manchester United player, who is also launching into music with an album “Cantona sings Eric”, which is released on Friday.
