This Saturday, Frenchman Adrien Fourmaux took second place in the general classification of the WRC rally in Sweden, behind Finnish Esapekka Lappi.

A Frenchman at the forefront. This Saturday morning, at the end of the eleventh special, Adrien Fourmaux, at the wheel of his Ford M-Sport, took second place in the general classification of the WRC rally in Sweden. He who was still third this Friday evening. This gain of a position in the hierarchy, the Habs owe it, initially, to the exit of the road of the Japanese Takamoto Katsuta, resident of the Toyota team, who hit a wall of snow during SS10.

Before his scratch time achieved during SS11, the third of his WRC career, ahead of the Belgian Thierry Neuville, resident of the Hyundai team and new fifth in the general classification. Fourmaux: “I am very happy with my pace”

In second place, Fourmaux is 1’24”3 behind. Just behind, in third position, we find the Briton Elfyn Evans (Toyota), who took advantage of better conditions than the day before to get back on track. While the gap between the two men is only 16 seconds, this does not seem to disturb the Frenchman, who spoke at the finish, in comments reported by The team : “It was a very good stage. We changed the settings a bit and found something really good. The track was cleaner too, which helped us, but honestly I’m very happy with my pace. »
